I'm also writing again. Working on my novel that's been sitting around for months collecting virtual dust. I've hit a snag, though.
I'm of the opinion that conflict is necessary. Without conflict, either internal or external, we'd be rather bored. Conflict is what keeps us occupied, whether we're defending our homes from some invading evil, or fighting with the fear of saying what you feel to the people you care about. Most of the artistic and technological developments in the history of forever have come from some sort of conflict; war, invasion, arguments. Even peaceful competition (the 'Moon-race'
Through writing the above paragraph I came to the conclusion myself. I like what I've written though, so it's staying there.
In other news, I need a laptop so that I can write this story in a place other than at this desk. Any suggestions for a cheap, bare-bones writing machine?
